How Piri is built

Piri is a web application rendered with WebGL and packaged for phones, which means the same build runs everywhere and the map is drawn live rather than shipped as images. Boundaries come from open government-derived datasets; every country is reprojected on its own terms.

The data behind the maps, and the licences it carries, are listed in full on the credits page.
